I’m sure Analog Mike has a few of these on some dusty shelf but for the rest of us who weren’t scoping record shops in Tokyo in ‘01 it’s kinda hard to come by. I was going to do a real post today and again got side tracked. Sorry about how erratic things have been dudes, don’t worry I’ll get my groove back. Plenty of other good Japanese shirts from this seller too.Not a lot to say about this other than let the best dawg win… love this shirt:
Pretty good for 1 year of releases. Shit-fi has called the opening drum beat to Realities of War “the shot heard round the world”. As far as Hardcore goes, thats’ pretty true.
Today I shall let the pictures do the talking… got a couple of nice Bad Brains tour shirts. I used to have a yellow version of the ‘87 one. Also there’s a Cancerous Growth shirt which is a masterpiece as you can see.
A rarely seen, but much less valuable than the colored vinyl edition of Youth Of Today’s “Break Down The Walls” is this black and yellow sleeve variant on Wishingwell records. I may be wrong but I think this might have been pressed after the Revelation edition already existed. I’ve heard some number like 250 copies thrown around for how many were made but I have no idea where to confirm that. There’s some speculation as to whether this edition was entirely approved by the band and may have been produced to fill out left over vinyl from the first press. I’ve heard a variety of stories, none of which have been corroborated with any hard evidence. All I know is that you see this version very infrequently. I want to kind of speculate and say that sometime in the future more people are going to realize how hard this one is to find and start paying more for it, but right now it usually doesn’t break $100. If you’re a hard-core YOT fan this is the kind of thing you’re going to be happy to get sooner rather than later.
While you’re looking, you can pick up We’re Not In This Alone, and Can’t Close My Eyes 12″ edition, and a bunch of other later 80’s NY-Centric releases.
Oh, and don’t forget THESE.
I am back - and reunited w/ my internet access. I gotta post this right now. Honestly if I’d not just dropped a sizable amount on a couple of records I’d probably be buying 2 or 3 of these. Original Kevin Crowly and Sean Taggert shit ain’t easy to come by.
I’m not sure who the seller is on this stuff but they clearly are an older person. They have 2 items sold in their completed auctions: an original Black Flag flyer and a test press of Jealous Again. Currently for sale they have:
Some of this stuff says “given to me by the band”. The sticker says: “This is one of the last Unstuck stickers on the sheet. We put them on the Damaged records in 1981 at the pressing plant.”
Pretty killer. Hopefully even more cool stuff comes soon. Can anyone identify the model in the studded jacket for sale?

Black Sabbath Bloody Tour shirt

Iron Maiden 1984 tour long sleeve
PS: Tip of the hat to Nick from Prema. I posted some of his auctions a couple weeks ago and definitely laid into his former band and 90’s HC in general, he emailed me though, and was a good sport about it all. He’s currently busy doing mega-deluxe metal vinyl like a Rotting Christ boxset, and a gold (yes actual gold) Mayhem lp. I have no idea where you even order something like that but as soon as I know I’m moving to exclusively release records on that format.
Another day pressed for time… check out more cool looking 80s japanese compilations. why do they always look the best?

Sakevi (see gism post) put together the art for this one and it’s more of his famous collage stuff. A crucial mix of 1st gen. Japanese punk and hc.

Iconic sleeve on this one with the demonic punk rocker. Love the g-zet tracks, one of the first punk bands to really go all out in their motorhead worship which happens to sit particularly well with me. bass heavy and driving.

Systematic death just played nyc, rhode island, and portland over the weekend. I saw them in New York on Friday and they were all power and speed, just drilling through hits from this comp and their records like they hadn’t been broken up for the past 20 years.
Hey, it’s post #100 for us today. Thanks for all the positive feedback and support so far. Hopefully this will stay interesting for everyone and we can keep having fun… Got some quick 1 or 2 liners today for a picture post… Feel free to leave your comments.

Love the CXA song on here. Super sludgy intro. Definitely the best Turning Point song on this comp too. Actually pretty much everything is awesome. Kind of a lesser Burn song, but it’s still Burn.

It’s kind of weird that I think this record cover looks so cool, because it’s just a bunch of scratches or pen marks, but it’s always looked super cool to me. From a time when taking the name “pure hate” would not have been associated with a scally cap.

Oh you’re gonna want that Cruck track. Maybe not for this price, but you’re gonna want and need it. Are they the America’s Hardcore of Japan? Maybe they should get more credit than that… Comp track only bands… HOW FRUSTRATING.

Seriously… this record’s not even good. My rule of thumb though, is I’ll buy any Spazz record I don’t have for $5 or less. Even when the vocals get super stupid, the song’s about underwear, and there’s a banjo overdub into a Welcome Back Cotter sample, you can find a good riff. It’s just usually followed by like… a duet between Elmo and Grover. I respect the guys in the band though. They had a good hustle even though making “Power Violence” “funny” was the worst move ever.
